R. Andrew Hurley

Dr. R. Andrew Hurley is an Associate Professor of Packaging Science at Clemson University, where he directs the design, prototyping and consumer experience facilities. Dr. Hurley’s biometric-based consumer experience lab, CUshop™, has assisted hundreds of global consumer product groups and small businesses in developing data-driven designs that show increased consumer engagement and sales. The success of his research program catalyzed the formation of Package InSight, a full service packaging design and consumer experience company located in Greenville, SC. 

Since 2008, Hurley has led the development and continuous improvement of the packaging design curriculum at Clemson University. Andrew directed a significant project that included academic and industry professionals who collectively developed a premiere packaging curriculum, which was licensed by Clemson to The Packaging School. PackagingSchool.com offers the Certificate of Packaging Science, a state-of-the-art online curriculum that teaches the necessary business acumen and professional vocabulary to work successfully within the packaging industry. And in his free time (which is minimal at best), he travels the globe speaking and engaging packaging professionals with fresh industry insights.
