For more than 15 years, Chris Cetnar has developed packaging for new products to meet the ever-changing needs of consumers. Current role is Packaging Manager, Research & Development for a Fortune 500 food manufacturer. The interplay of food ingredients, processing conditions and packaging materials continues to intrigue and challenge him. Only through broad packaging industry collaboration will we be able to drive positive environmental impact in an increasingly dynamic retailing marketplace.
He holds an undergraduate degree in Packaging from Michigan State University and a MBA from The University of Akron. He resides in North East, Ohio with his wife of 10 years and 3 boys – all under the age of 6.

Products research is a filter, separating great concepts from the good concepts. And once a concept is deemed great, it becomes a full sprint to launch. I’ll highlight a complex best in class new product launch which had to evolve from words on paper to the store shelves rapidly. Importantly, emphasizing attributes of winning collaboration, how development is impacted by the Food Safety Modernization Act, what it means for the supplier network and how to be considered for future growth.
