A Fresh Look at rPET Options

rPlanet Earth was formed to provide global, national and regional consumer packaged goods companies (“CPG”) with a high quality, reliable and consistent supply of high-recycled PET (“rPET”) content packaging containers.  The Company is building its first plant in Los Angeles and will be operational by Q2 2018.  rPlanet Earth will initially produce “bottle grade” rPET food and beverage packaging, with plans to expand production to include cosmetics, personal health care and other types of rPET-based packaging.  The Company’s initial products will include bottle preforms, extruded sheet and thermoformed containers.

rPlanet Earth will be the first completely vertically integrated bottle grade rPET plant in the world that produces multiple types of packaging products under the same roof.  The Company’s innovative production practices will allow its packaging products to have the lowest carbon footprint in the US and one of the lowest, if not the lowest, in the world.  Because all production takes place in a single facility the Company will eliminate several expensive production and intermediate goods transportation steps.

rPlanet Earth will not pelletize the bottle grade flake, thereby eliminating another costly and unnecessary production step that increases GHG emissions and can degrade the material.  rPlanet Earth plans to build four additional plants across the US, thereby creating the first coast-to-coast network of high quality, high rPET content bottle grade packaging manufacturing plants.
