Kevin Ortman is a polymer engineer and project manager at PTI. He earned his bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering at the University of Akron and Ph.D. at Virginia Tech. His academic research is in fiber composite melt rheology and fluid dynamics. Prior to PTI, Kevin publicly served as a patent examiner for the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) where he, for nearly 10 years, prosecuted inventions relating to hollow containers and packaging applications. Today, Kevin focuses his time at PTI on a variety of projects dedicated to better understanding the technical challenges facing partitioners of post-consumer recyclable plastics and investigating emerging technologies aimed at increasing plastics circularity and positive environmental impact.
