Why McCall Farms Chose the Sonoco Plastic Can
As a follow up to Sonoco’s public introduction of the TruVue® plastic can at THE PACKAGING CONFERENCE 2016, Sonoco is pleased to return with their first commercial partner, McCall Farms, America’s #1 manufacturer of Southern-style seasoned canned vegetables, to discuss why they selected Sonoco’s technology to launch their new Glory Farms brand which is already available at Harris Teeter (A Kroger Company) and Ingles supermarket stores.
This exciting news represents the first ever commercialization of a plastic can capable of surviving the rigors of the traditional metal can retort processing environment. Steve Gendreau, from Sonoco, will provide a brief recap of the technology. This will be followed by a more detailed review by Annie Ham, McCall Farms, regarding their company vision and how they see TruVue® as a catalyst for growth in a historically declining market.
