Lamy Chopin is a global development leader for Dow Packaging and Specialty Plastics (P&SP). Lamy is responsible for leading the development of packaging solutions focused on utilizing Dow technologies in innovative ways. He is responsible for the global PacXpert development team and he leads the development of sustainable package designs for North America.
Lamy has spent his entire career with Dow, with more than 15 years of experience in various lead development roles with increasing responsibilities. His team enables commercial expansion of recyclable pouches through technologies like RecyleReady which includes features such as oxygen barrier and enhanced heat resistance. Lamy has introduced several technologies that have advanced Dow’s position in the market.
Lamy’s technology projects have recently won two R&D 100 Awards and the RecycleReady technology won a 2016 Trashie Award from the Sustainable Packaging Coalition. He holds 15 patents on inventions ranging from plastic packaging to solar panels to biochemistry.
He earned a B.S. degree in chemistry from Spring Hill College and a PhD in analytical chemistry from Florida State University. Lamy is an Eagle Scout.
