Ted Harris is currently the Market Development Manager for Total Petrochemicals and Refining USA, Inc. (TPRI), and will celebrate his 25th anniversary with the company in 2017. He started his career in Research and Development focusing on the development of metallocene catalyst technology for polypropylene, and is the co-author of several patents in this field. Ted then moved from the lab to the field where he served as a Technical Service Advisor supporting a broad cross-section of markets that included Asphalt Modification, Rigid Packaging, Durable Goods and Medical. Ted then assumed the position of Sustainable Development Manager, where he was instrumental in the development and commercialization of a recycled content polystyrene product line for the food packaging market.
In addition to his current responsibilities as Marketing Manager, Ted continues to have a hand in Sustainable Development, and actively serves on several groups within the Plastics Division of the American Chemistry Council that advocate for the benefits of plastic packaging, and the diversion of plastics from landfill for recycling and energy recovery.

Is ISBM Ready for HDPE?
This presentation will discuss the novel concept and potential benefits of making bottles from HDPE using stretch blow molding. As the ability to lightweight reaches its limitations in extrusion blow molding for certain applications, stretch blow molding offers a means to achieve additional weight savings, while at the same time improving part to part consistency and eliminating trim scrap.
